An unsuccessful period in Kaizer Chiefs’ history appears to be reflected in their transfer dealings over the past ten years.
It’s a very difficult job – getting the players with the right talent and temperament to fit it. In recent years though, as we show below, it seems the Soweto giants have got more wrong than right and this may be one of the reasons for their seven year trophy drought.
Players promoted from the development ranks were not included on the list.
Lazarous Kambole, Letlhogonolo Mirwa, Sibusiso Mabiliso, Sakhile Hlongwa, Mitchell Katsvairo and Levy Mokgothu are some who failed to make the grade.
Chiefs have made some decent signings in the recently-completed PSL transfer window, although with the season still young, the verdict remains out as to how many will truly prove successful.
