Viva Ronaldo: Cr7 leads teammates to applaud fans after winning Leicester

Chiefs have made huge progress with their reserve team who were recently crowned the DStv Diski Challenge winners, just weeks after walking away as the Gauteng winners of the Engen Knockout Challenge, so it comes as very little surprise that the Glamour Boys would want to hold onto their budding stars.

As reported by the Siya crew in edition 1284 of Soccer Laduma, Sundowns expressed a keen interest in the services of Chiefs’ 19-year-old goalkeeper Lungile Nkosi who has been outstanding for coach Vela Khumalo’s side.

Chiefs’ conveyor belt of talent bodes well for the team, with the likes of Njabulo Blom, Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, and Happy Mashiane establishing themselves as first team regulars, while Mduduzi Shabalala was promoted to the first team.

The likes of Aden McCarthy, Nkosi, Samkelo Zwane and Lungile Duba are all knocking on the first team door with their inspiring performances for the club’s DDC side.

Kaizer Chiefs have held onto one of the club’s emerging talents as Amakhosi managed to deflect the interest of rivals Mamelodi Sundowns.

However, the latest news reaching the crew’s desk is that Chiefs see the Katlehong-born star as a future first team prospect and as a result, have tied down the player to a new long-term contract, deflecting Sundowns’ interest in the process.
