Mamelodi Sundowns are a force to be reckoned with thanks to their impressive run in the CAF Champions League, which has taken them all the way to the quarterfinals without losing a game.
As it seem Mamelodi Sundowns to be the best team in South Africa. Even though Sundowns has a plethora of excellent players, the club is fair to all of the PSL clubs by loaning out some of its best players.
Sundowns star striker Phakamani Mahlambi spends more time on loan than he does playing in the DStv Premiership with his parent club. AmaZulu FC loaned Phakamani Mahlambi out last season, and he’ll join Chippa United for the upcoming season.
Pitso Mosimane’s side currently has Mahlambi as a coach. During his time at Al Ahly, Mahlambi managed just one goal and five assists in 15 appearances, but his season at Sundowns saw him score seven goals and add one assist in 44 appearances.
It will be the end of the month before Mahlambi’s deal with Mamelodi Sundowns comes to an end. To return to his parent club at the end of the loan period he may sign another contract or be ready to sign a new contract extension to the one he has already signed.
By the end of May, Mamelodi Sundowns must decide whether or not to extend his contract. Only a select few forwards, like Mahlambi, are still growing and have the potential to soar in the game. In 34 appearances with Bidvest Wits, he scored and assisted on 10 goals.
