Benni McCarthy did what no other coach could ever do at AmaZulu FC while clubs such as Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs failed to qualify for the champions league. As they landed their first ever second place finish which also landed them their historic CAF Champions League qualification,
This came as a shock to the South African soccer fraternity as he was named coach of the season last season with AmaZulu.
Former AmaZulu FC head coach Benni McCarthy left the club on Friday last week. AmaZulu FC signed former Moroka Swallows head coach Brandon Truter as their interim.
while Benni McCarthy has been unofficially linked to clubs such as Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates by means of the media and supporters.
But, despite being linked to Soweto-based clubs, Benni McCarthy according to latest reports from a close source is reportedly in talks with a Tshwane-based club.
As Benni McCarthy parted ways with AmaZulu FC and just two days after McCarthy’s living the club, the club signed an interim coach until the end of the current season which will oversee about 7 matches in the league.
There have been massive details that have emerged on Kaizer Chiefs’ reported pursuit of a striker signing for next season.
It has been no secret that Chiefs are in the market for a number nine who will bolster their attack, and now details of that search they were looking for.
As a transfer ban In the close season, Chiefs bolstered their rankings with no less than nine players. None of those players, however, were genuine number nines in the mould of Samir Nurkovic and Leonardo Castro.
But that was, perhaps because in the above mentioned as well as Lazarous Kambole and Khama Billiat, the Amakhosi management would have probably felt that they had enough for this season.
But Benni McCarthy’s last season couldn’t save him this season as for the current season just didn’t match equally to his maiden season, with more draws rather then any other results and a poor run in the CAF Champions League group levels.
