In other news, Brian Baloyi said the only way to make PSL competitive again is to introduce financial fair play. He also said that Mamelodi Sundowns have won 5 league titles in a row and they weren’t cheap.
“I don’t want to take anything away from Sundowns, they have a great team and they play great football. But imagine if all the superstars at Sundowns were playing week in and week out? That would strengthen our national team.
Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Lorenzo Gordinho has secured a surprise return to the PSL.
Cape Town City FC confirmed the arrival of the Amakhosi academy graduate.
Gordinho burst onto the scene after being promoted from the Amakhosi academy in 2013.
His five year spell at Naturena saw him make over 70 appearances for the club.
He then proceeded to Bloemfontein Celtic on a loan deal and despite impressing, Kaizer Chiefs opted to offload him permanently in 2019.
He most recently played for Danish side HB Koge but now makes a surprise return to PSL!
In Europe, these rules already exist and I feel like Sundowns are negatively impacting the balance of the league. Yes, they have the financial muscle to do it, but it weakens the league because they buy all the superstars.
